Porcelain veneers are a great option for someone that just doesn't like their smile. It's really remarkable. I do a lot of veneer cases and it's amazing always to me when I take my before photos and then I see those patients year down the road. I compare how they're smiling down the road after their smile is fixed to when they first came in, looking like this, they don't want to smile, they don't even want to show you. You ask them to smile and they kind of go like this. Once you can restore their smile, what a dramatic difference it changes in their personality, really. You see that really joy in them come out.
Most people don't like to smile for a number of reasons. One, either their teeth are discolored. They're crooked. They have gaps. They might show too much gums in their smile. A lot of times it's accidents. Patients have had accidents where teeth have chipped and broken and they have been rebuilt with different bonding materials and filling materials and it stains and discolors. I'd say the other area that I often see is old dentistry. Someone comes in that's had maybe some older porcelain work done that doesn't look right. Those cases then are very rewarding. We can take something old off and replace it with new materials, new technique that really looks natural or as natural as beautiful new teeth.
One of the other areas of my practice that I often see is redoing dentistry. Sometimes they've gone to their family dentist and had some veneer work done or crown work and they're not happy with the aesthetic result of it, so they're seeking out maybe someone that might emphasize it more like our office and redoing those cases. It's unfortunate but it happens. It happens all too often. They're rewarding also. It's really nice then to give them a smile that they're proud to have and share.

Benefitting From Quick And Easy Dental Veneers
Veneers are ultra-thin shells of porcelain that fit over the existing teeth. Each veneer is created separately and bonded into place over the natural tooth to create the ideal fit and look. The porcelain, once bonded to the tooth, is extremely durable and has a color, translucency, and texture similar to natural tooth enamel.
Dr. Rod Gleave offers a variety of dental veneer options to help you fix your smile. Those options include:
- Traditional porcelain veneers, which are super strong and can be customized to match the shade you want
- Composite veneers, which can also be customized to appear as bright as you like
- Prepless veneers, which require no preparation of your teeth before being applied
- Lumineers, which are strong yet incredibly thin for a natural look and require minimal to no preparation
The entire process is relatively quick depending on your mouth’s condition. In some cases, our patients can walk out with their new smile after one visit!
Comfortably Receiving Your Beautiful Veneers
Dr. Gleave starts by taking lots of digital photos of your teeth, lip position, gum height, and effect of your opposing teeth and bite. He’ll then take no-fuss impressions of your teeth to better understand the existing teeth size, position, and bite. Afterward, he’ll discuss with you how many teeth will need to be veneered.
Here comes the fun part: you then get to check out our smile catalog to pick out a shape, size, and desired color! It’s totally up to you, but Dr. Gleave will offer his expert opinion to ensure you get the best veneers for your desired results.
We make provisional veneers for you to wear as a “trial smile” to better evaluate the look and feel of your new veneers. Any changes to tooth position, shape, or color will be better communicated to the ceramist who is making your final veneers.
When your veneers are completed by the ceramist, we will preview them, and if everything looks perfect, we’re ready to bond them on!
