A dental exam is a routine evaluation in which a dentist checks the teeth, gums, and surrounding tissues for signs of decay, gum disease, and other oral health issues. Exams are usually paired with a professional cleaning and may include digital X-rays.
Catching issues at the exam stage, before they cause pain, almost always means simpler, less expensive treatment.
